Introducing Silver Belle, The People’s Tree of 2025

Every year, a different National Forest provides a tree for this initiative. This year’s tree, affectionately named Silver Belle, is the first ever from Nevada’s Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.

Silver Belle was harvested on October 24, 2025, from Mt. Rose in the Carson Ranger District, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. She was approximately 50 years old at time of harvest. She is a red fir, stands 53 feet tall, is 20 inches in diameter, and has a 16-foot canopy spread. The truck and trailer combined amount to a length of 101 feet and 54,700 pounds!
